What did i learn today?
I learned about Plato's Myth of the cave which had me questioning, if someone really knew what the nature of reality is, would we believe? What if the reality we see is just like the shadows that the ..prisoner perceives? I also learned about Plato's Simile of the line, that told me the different levels of reality, and Ideal City that meant only the people who are aware of the forms are the rulers which induce the soldiers to control the people. I learned from Aristotle that every object has its own form and its own matter.
How is it applicable to my daily life?
If we could open our eyes and see if there is really another reality, which is the real reality even just for a minute, would we be able to communicate it? Plato's idea of the line can be applicable to my daily life because that idea is something that i would avoid thinking of because it will never work. While all substance is analyzed as four causes it is like a blueprint. Just like what Neoplatonism is about, maybe the absolute truth is not found in here, maybe we are just like other animals who live not for the sake of anything, but for the sake of themselves.
